OpenDiskIndex | |
Welcome to the OpenDiskIndex site. Project description: OpenDiskIndex is a program that stores the filenames of a collection of CD's and other removable media's / network sources. This is usefull when one wants to find a particular file without having to insert all the CD's. The program can also scan the filenames inside archives (ZIP, tar.gz, etc.) in order to complement the search. Examples: If you have a .mp3 collection you can enter an artist name and find all the songs from this artist and which CD each song is on. You could also search for a missing windows DLL or a missing Linux RPM, etc. Although extra information can be extracted from certain files (such as .mp3 description), the program primary uses the filenames. This is a GPL'ed rewrite of the shareware application DiskIndex. Platform/Utilities: Developed in C++ using the wxWindows GUI library. Runs on Windows, Linux and eventually on other platforms supported by wxWindows. News:
